About the Journal

Milkiyah is a journal published in February and August with six articles per issue presenting research articles and conceptual papers.  Subject areas suitable for publication are  Islamic Law for Economics and Business, and Islamic Economics and Business.  The journal focuses on Sharia Aspects of Business and Finance, Islamic Economics System and Institutions, Commercial Law and Legal Documentation for Islamic Financial Services, and Islamic Social Finance (Waqf, Zakat, Infaq and Sadaqah).

Over its 4 years of existence, all issues of Milkiyah have featured contributions from authors based in 15 countries across 4 continents (Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia). The authors include those affiliated with Indonesian institutions as well as international scholars from 14 other countries (Malaysia, Nigeria, Hungary, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Qatar, Kenya, New Zealand, Germany, India, Netherlands, and Turkey). In total, the contributors represent more than 60 affiliations, reflecting both a robust national base and an expanding global presence.  As a result of this achievement, Milkiyah has been successfully indexed in the Asian Science Citation Index (ASCI), which applies rigorous standards including peer-review quality, editorial excellence, publication consistency, international diversity, and adherence to ethical publishing practices

Milkiyah has been recognized as a top-tier journal in Indonesia, receiving a "Sinta 2" accreditation from  the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. 

Our journal is published by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Majene under the Study Program of Sharia Economic Law in collaboration with the Association of  Study Programmes and Lecturers of Indonesian Sharia Economic Law referred to as POSDHESI and the Professional Organization of Islamic Business and Economics known as FORDEBI.

In this year, 2025, Milkiyah is focusing on enhancing its quality and implementing strategies to improve its ranking and visibility. As part of this initiative, the journal is preparing for submission to SCOPUS database. We invite you to contribute by submitting your high-quality manuscripts and joining us on this journey of academic growth.

The contributors to this edition represent some institutions across three countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, and Nigeria), bringing diverse scholarly perspectives that enrich the discourse.
