About the Journal

Milkiyah is an international peer-reviewed journal specializing in Islamic Economic Law and its engagement with contemporary socio-economic challenges. The journal publishes high-quality research on governance, sustainability, environmental issues, Islamic social finance, and public policy, contributing to the development and application of Islamic legal thought in local and global contexts. The journal is published twice a year, in February and August, and each issue contains six original research articles.

Over its 4 years of existence, all issues of Milkiyah have featured contributions from authors based in 16 countries (Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and the United Kingdom). In total, the contributors represent more than 60 affiliations, reflecting both a robust national base and an expanding global presence.  As a result of this achievement, Milkiyah has been successfully indexed in the Asian Science Citation Index (ASCI), which applies rigorous standards including peer-review quality, editorial excellence, publication consistency, international diversity, and adherence to ethical publishing practices

Milkiyah has been recognized as a top-tier journal in Indonesia, receiving a "Sinta 2" accreditation from  the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.  This accreditation is valid from Vol. 1 No. 2 (2022) to Vol. 6 No. 1 (2027).

Our journal is published by Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Majene under the Study Program of Sharia Economic Law in collaboration with the Association of  Study Programmes and Lecturers of Indonesian Sharia Economic Law referred to as POSDHESI and the Professional Organization of Islamic Business and Economics known as FORDEBI.

In this year, 2026, Milkiyah is focusing on enhancing its quality and implementing strategies to improve its ranking and visibility. As part of this initiative, the journal is preparing for submission to SCOPUS database. We invite you to contribute by submitting your high-quality manuscripts and joining us on this journey of academic growth.

Announcement on Withdrawal of Previous Editorial Notice

The Editorial Board of Milkiyah: Jurnal Hukum Ekonomi Syariah hereby announces the withdrawal of a previous editorial notice.

Following further verification and communication with the authors, the Editorial Board has received sufficient clarification regarding the matters previously raised. Therefore, the announcement issued concerning the revocation of the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the discontinuation of the manuscript's editorial process is hereby withdrawn.

The Editorial Board acknowledges the cooperation of all authors during the verification process and confirms that the previous announcement should no longer be considered applicable.

This notice is issued to maintain the accuracy of the journal's public records and uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and academic integrity in scholarly publishing.

This issue comprises six articles that offer a critical exploration of emerging themes in Sharia economic law and Islamic business studies. The contributions address halal certification, business ethics, waqf governance, financial inclusion, socioeconomic development, as well as the growing discourse on green finance. Collectively, these articles demonstrate how Islamic principles are applied to contemporary economic, legal, and business challenges, while examining the role of governance, institutional structures, and financial practices in strengthening resilience and advancing sustainable development. The authors represent institutions from five countries  (Germany, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom), bringing diverse academic perspectives that enrich ongoing discussions in Islamic economics and law.
