About the Journal
Sibaliparriq: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga dan Literasi Syariah is an academic scientific journal published by the Islamic Family Law Master's Program at STAIN Majene since 2024. This journal is published twice a year, in June and December. It focuses on the fields of family law and sharia literacy, as well as broader legal studies. The journal aims to contribute to academic discourse in Islamic law, particularly in the area of family law, from both Islamic and civil law perspectives as applied in Indonesia.
The journal publishes scholarly articles covering a wide range of topics in Islamic and general law applicable in society. These include but are not limited to family law, statutory law, jurisprudence, Islamic civil law, dispute resolution, comparative family law in both classical and contemporary contexts, criminal law, civil law, customary law, and agrarian law. The journal welcomes contributions from researchers across relevant legal and interdisciplinary fields.
This journal is titled "Sibaliparriq", a word derived from the Mandar ethnic language. It is composed of several syllables: "si", which means "to face each other"; "bali", meaning "opponent" or "adversary"; and "parri", which connotes "hardship" or "sorrow". When combined, these syllables form the phrase “sibaliparriq”, which conveys the idea of mutual sharing of hardship, or facing adversity together.
In the context of family law, sibaliparriq symbolizes the cooperation and partnership between husband and wife in managing household responsibilities—whether social issues, such as raising and educating children, or economic matters, such as fulfilling daily needs. The journal adopts this term to reflect the foundational values of mutual support, empathy, and shared responsibility that are central to Islamic family life and legal understanding.
